The Chrome Belt Line molding also greatly highlights the car’s aerodynamic sloping roofline. The GT and GLS variants are equipped with the 3 spoke leather wrapped steering wheel with integrated audio controls for added convenience while driving. The gear shift knob and parking brake lever are also wrapped in leather enhancing the cabins luxurious design. Engine and Transmission

The Mitsubishi Lancer comes with two engine options. The new 1.6 Liter gasoline MIVEC Engine and the 2.0 Liter gasoline MIVEC engine. The Mitsubishi Lancer also has 3 types of transmissions. 2 types of automatic transmission and 1 manual transmission. The 2.0 Liter engine is coupled to the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with Invecs III that allows the cat to efficiently shift transmission without power lag. Variants with the 2.0 engine coupled with the CVT transmission is equipped with sports mode and paddle shifters that allow the driver to change gears easily.

The 2.0 Liter Gasoline MIVEC engine is equipped with the Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control that adjusts the intake timing for better performance across the rev band. At lower resolutions, the MIVEC adjusts the timing to provide better on-demand acceleration and for higher revs, the technology increases the power that the engine can provide. The 2.0 Litre gasoline engine has 4 cylinders and is engineered with lightweight aluminum and provides an output of 110 kW or 150 PS at 6000 rpm.

 

The 1.6 Liter engine has also MIVEC technology and the gasoline engine has 4 cylinders capable of delivering a power output of 86Kw (117PS) at 6000 rpm. The 1.6 Liter Engine Variant is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission with INVEC-II shift control that is designed to minimize torque and acceleration fluctuations.

Safety Features

The Mitsubishi Lancer is designed with several passive and active safety features that have enabled the vehicle to score good results in crash ratings. The Mitsubishi Lancer has 5 stars in the NHTSA Driver Frontal rating and 5 stars in the Euro NCAP overall Adult rating.

The Mitsubishi Lancer has a RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body that is designed to protect the vehicle’s occupants by utilizing extensive front and rear crumple zones to absorb impact energy and minimize the energy transferred to the cabin.
